Breakdown Statistics
Why are 75% of tracks uncredited?
Unlike other major Japanese game developers who credit specific composers and arrangers for individual tracks, Nihon Falcom has followed a strict policy of collective anonymity since 1989.
Under this policy, all BGM is credited to a monolithic moniker: "Sound Team J.D.K." (or "Sound Team jdk"). Internal composers are forbidden from speaking to the media, holding real-name social media accounts, or receiving individual track credits in booklets or staff rolls.
The Role of Leaks: Most of the credits mapped in this project are thanks to major leaks on the Japanese wiki Falcom Staff Roll in 2019 and 2021. An anonymous developer uploaded detailed internal database documents containing composer codes, revision markers, and original staff credits spanning 15+ years of soundtracks.
For games prior to 2003 or post-2021 without leaked databases, fan researchers analyze synthetic sound setups, musical style evolution, and non-Falcom works to speculate and predict track ownership.
